摘要 The invention concerns a process for producing an oriented film containing a highly-viscous liquid crystal material, wherein a substrate coated with at least one liquid crystal material selected from the group comprising monomer smectites, liquid crystal oligomers, liquid crystal polymers and mixtures of these substances with mesogenic monomers is combined in bubble-free manner with a second substrate which is not coated with liquid crystal material or wherein two substrates which are coated with the liquid crysta l material are combined in bubble-free manner, the substrates su bsequently being oriented in a manner known per se and secured. The process is characterized in that the combining step is carried out in a vacuum at a pressure of 10 mbar or less and at a temperature at which the viscosity of the liquid crystal material ranges from 0.1 up to and including 10 Pa*s.
