Resilient strips of a fibrous material (2) are firmly attached to a supporting structure of a building, e.g. to floor joists (10). The flooring (14) is then laid over and glued to the resilient strips to de-couple the flooring from the structure thereby reducing the transmission of sound. The resilient material may have a flat rigid layer (6) secured thereover for adhering the flooring thereto. |
