PURPOSE:To provide a pulse duty discriminating function by adding a circuit which detects an edge of an input pulse signal to be discriminated and a circuit which stores a data in a presettable counter circuit to a presettable register circuit at the time of edge detection to a counter device. CONSTITUTION:While a voltage level of an input pulse signal 9 is high, a presettable counter circuit 1 uses a count clock signal 2 to apply counting and a data of the presettable counter circuit 1 is stored in a presettable register circuit 4 by using a trailing edge detection signal 12 generated from an edge detection circuit 10. A comparator circuit 7 always compares a presettable counter data 5 with a presettable register data 6 and outputs the result of comparison as an output signal 8. Thus, an output signal is fetched at the time of generation (end of one pulse) of the leading edge detection signal 14 generated by the edge detection circuit to descriminate the duty of the input pulse.
