PURPOSE:To obtain a deodorant for efficiently deodorizing a malodor and having an arbitrary shape excellent in durability, by preparing the deodorant of a compound containing an amidoxime group and at least one metal ion selected from a group consisting of iron, copper, tin, silver and cobalt coordinated on said group. CONSTITUTION:This deodorant is based on a compound having an amidoxime group and both of high-molecular and low-molecular compounds such as polyacrylonitrile amidoxime may be used. In order to coordinate the amidoxime group with a metal ion, the amidoxime group-containing compound is heat- treated in an aqueous solution containing the metal ion. The necessary amount of the metal ion introduced into the amidoxime group-containing compound by coordination is 1,000ppm or more. As the form of the deodorant, a liquid form, a gel like form, a powdery form and a molded form is arbitrarily selected in matching relation to a purpose by the selection of the amidoxime group- containing compound. The metal ion allowed to coordinate with the amidoxime group is selected from a metal easy to react with ammonia or hydrogen sulfide selected from ion, copper, tin, silver and cobalt. |
