A connector tube (1) that can be vented is used to link a washing machine outlet hose (5) to a drain. The hose is fitted over a plug (3) at one end of the tube, whilst at the other end there is an guide section (4) which is fitted into a pipe (2) leading to the drain. Ribs (6) extend in the length direction around the outside of the tube, acting as grips to ensure a tight fit between the tube and pipe, whilst at the same time maintaining a gap between the inside of the pipe and the outside of the tube, through which air can flow. At the hose end of the tube each rib has a lip (7) extending at right angles to the length axis (C) of the tube, or alternatively a circular flange is provided. |
