LENS FOR HIGH-ENERGY RADIATION, ITS USE AND ITS MANUFACTURE

The invention concerns a lens for high-energy radiation, the lens consisting of a disc which is opaque to the radiation and which has a first face and a second face and a multiplicity of capillary channels of diameter 50 mu m at the most. The capillaries are disposed in such a way that they run from the first face to the second face of the disc and the extensions of their longitudinal axes meet at a common line or point, the common line or point lying behind the second face of the disc. The lens is intended for use in focussing an X-ray, gamma-ray or particle beam. Also described are methods of manufacturing the lens.
