PURPOSE:To permit reducing a cogging torque and accommodating rotor position sensors in slots by providing large and small teeth at prescribed spaces in a stator. CONSTITUTION:An electric motor has a rotor magnet 4, of which N and S poles are successively magnetized at every center angle of 45 deg., together with a stator 5. The stator 5 is furnished with six large teeth 8a-8f approaching and confronting the inside of the rotor magnet 4 at every center angle of 60 deg. and, in slots 9a-9f formed by the large teeth 8a, 8b..., with three small teeth 10b, 10d, 10f approaching and confronting the inside of the rotor magnet 4 at every center angle of 120 deg.. The large teeth 8a, 8b... and small teeth 10b, 10d, 10f of the stator 5 are wound with a three-phase coil 14. On the other hand, rotor position sensors 15 are secured in slots 9a, 9c, 9e having no small tooth. |
