PURPOSE:To provide the subject production process which is simpler than the conventional one, has low building cost and can be easily and continuously operated and by which a high thermal efficiency can be attained, and the start and stop of operation can easily be performed. CONSTITUTION:A process for producing SNG from low-boiling hydrocarbons as a feedstock, which process comprises subjecting the feedstock and steam to a reforming reaction in an adiabatic reformer, subjecting all or part of the reformed gas to a methanization reaction in the subsequent heat exchanger type reactor and using the formed heat of reaction to preheat the feedstock and the steam, is provided. The above-descrived process, wherein part of the reformed gas leaving the adiabatic reformer is used as a hydrogen source for hydrodesulfurizing the feedstock low-boiling hydrocarbons, is also provided. |
