PURPOSE:To effectively treat coke-oven ammoniacal liquid by adjusting and adding the quantity of ozone to the ammoniacal liquid after activated sludge treatment according to the sludge volume index characteristic value and giving forced agitation and mixing to oxidize and extinguish organic suspended matter in treated water. CONSTITUTION:In a method for treating coke-oven ammoniacal liquid 1, the ammoniacal liquid 1 which has been subjected to activated sludge treatment in an activated sludge tank 4 is introduced into a sedimentation tank 7 to separate it into organic suspended matter and treated water. And they are introduced into an agitation tank 9 and the sludge volume index characteristic value showing the sedimentation of the organic suspended matter passed through the sedimentation tank 7 is measured and the quantity of ozone 10 is added and adjusted according to the characteristic value and the mixture is forcibly agitated, causing the suspended matter to be effectively oxidized and extinguished. In the forced agitation treatment, the bubbles of the ozone 10 added are made fine and simultaneously the residence time of the ozone 10 in the treated ammoniacal liquid is extended, causing the contact efficiency of the organic suspended matter and ozone 10 to be increased allowing the organic suspended matter to be effectively oxidized, extinguished and removed. |
