PURPOSE:To obtain the subject nonwoven fabric having an improved mechanical strength without damage to feeling and air transmittability by making to adhere a specified modified nylon-based resin to a nonwoven fabric composed of a fiber having a fine apparent fineness and subsequently carrying out crosslinking under heating. CONSTITUTION:To 100 pts.wt. nonwoven fabric composed of a fiber having 0.1-15mum, preferably 1-10mum apparent fineness, preferably nonwoven fabric composed of a polyamide resin obtained by the melt blow method, 0.3-10 pts.wt., preferably 0.5-5 pts.wt. N-methylolated or alkoxymethylated nylon-based resin is made to adhere and drying and crosslinking are subsequently carried out at 70-200 deg.C. By using a resin obtained by graft polymerization of 10-40wt.% hydrophilic vinyl monomer as the above-mentioned nylon-based resin, the resultant fabric can be allowed to have not only an improved strength but excellent hydrophilic properties. |
