<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent lowering of steering feeling without enlarging an electric power steering device, to enable manual steering for fail-safe at the time of motor lock and to prevent breakage of a gear by motor inertia in steering to the steering limit. SOLUTION: Torque of a motor for steering assistance is transmitted to a steering shaft 3 through a gear 10. A first rotation regulating member 51 to deform in the diametrical direction as it is sandwiched between an outer periphery of the steering shaft 3 and an inner periphery of the gear 10 generates regulating torque of relative rotation of the steering shaft 3 and the gear 10 in accordance with friction by having force in the diametrical direction corresponding to diametrical direction deformation quantity work on the steering shaft 3 and the gear 10. The regulating torque generated by the first rotation regulating member 51 is smaller than destruction torque of a second rotation regulating member 61 fit on the steering shaft 3 and the gear 10 through a clearance free to regulate relative rotation of both of the steering shaft 3 and the gear 10.</p> |
