<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device to prevent generation of wrinkles or defective carriage such as meandering of the sheet during the carriage by providing the constant nip width of an elastic roller of carriage roller pairs in the axial direction. SOLUTION: An elastic roller 1 of carriage roller pairs to hold and carry a sheet comprises a core 3 and an outer roller 4 therearound. The core 3 is formed so that the outer diameter 3a at the central part is larger than the outer diameter 3b at the end part, and the thickness 4a at the central part is smaller than the thickness 4b at the end part of the outer roller. The outer diameter of the roller in the nip, and the nip width in the roller shaft direction and the distortion in the circumferential direction of the rubber are uniform over the whole direction of the roller shaft, and defective carriage such as meandering and wrinkles can be prevented in carrying the sheet.</p> |
