PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the operator of an excavating machine, provided with a cross link along a boom so as to have the function of revolving in very small circles, from hindrance when operating the machine while sitting on the driver's seat, and to reduce lateral bending stresses on a lower boom that are caused when the cross link is held in a cantilever position. SOLUTION: A boom 8 consisting of a lower boom 8L and an upper boom 8E which constitute a front working mechanism is provided with one cross link 40, on the side opposite to the side where a cab 6 on the boom 8 is placed, in order to provide the function revolving in very small circles. In order to eliminate or reduce lateral bending stresses that are caused by holding the cross link 40 in a cantilever position, a hydraulic cylinder for the boom has its position shifted from the position of the central axis of the lower boom 8L to the cab 6 side to dislocate the axis of the lower boom 8L of the hydraulic cylinder byΔd.
