The Specification states that in an electric power grid system it is known to control the prime movers (i) by the usual speed governors; (ii) by the integrated frequency error; (iii) by the algebraic sum of signals representing the frequency error and transferred load at the points of connection between different zones of the grid, Fig. 1 (not shown), whereby the load variation is taken up by the zone in which the change of load has occurred. The Specification proposes that in each zone additional control signals shall be used, viz :-the first and second differentials of the frequency error and the first differential of the transferred load, to assist in rapid regulation. These signals (like the frequency error and transferred load at point of connection to the grid) are arranged to be additive in zone in which a load variation has occurred, and cancel out in the other zones, Fig. 2 (not shown). |
