摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the state of stable rolling over a long period even in such a case as a control method for correcting right and left screw-down locations based on the right and left asymmetrical components of a roll gap which are determined by the change of profile and shifting position with roll wear is hitherto proposed in a rolling mill whose work rolls are shiftable in the axial direction. SOLUTION: The asymmetrical components of the roll gap are calculated from the profiles of back-up rolls 3, 4 between which the work rolls 1, 2 are held and the shifting amounts of the work rolls 1, 2 and, by these calculated results, the right and left screw-down locations are corrected. That is, when the wear of the back-up rolls 3, 4 is gradually progressed, the right and left asymmetrical components of the roll gap are generated due to that. Then, by executing correction based on the asymmetrical, even when the changing of the work rolls is repeated, the generation of difference between the right and left thickness is suppressed and the state of stable rolling is maintained.</p>
