<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a tubulent flow over the front of a screen and to securely prevent the clogging of the screen in the screen for separating the carrier of an aeration tank for biological treatment using the carrier. SOLUTION: A carrier is placed in an aeration tank used in biological purification, aeration and fluidization of the carrier are conducted by an aerating mechanism 6 provided in the lower stage of the aeration tank, and the water flows upward. A carrier separating screen 7 is set on the treated water outlet side of the aeration tank or on the outlet side and inlet side to prevent the outflow of the microorganism immobilizing carrier from the aeration tank. The screen 7 is formed with the plural screen wires 8 orthogonal to a water stream A and a rod 9 for supporting the wires. Consequently, the water stream is made turbulent, the foreign matter is hardly stuck to the screen, the foreign matter stuck to the screen, if any, is easily released, and the clogging of the screen 7 is prevented.</p> |
