PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the driving performance of a vehicle during auto-cruise and minimize fatigue given to a driver with long time drive by operating braking force on the vehicle for deceleration during auto-cruise when acceleration is applied to the vehicle running on a sharply descending slope so that the vehicle can always run at a constant set speed regardless of any road conditions including on a flat road, an ascending slope and a descending slope. SOLUTION: An exhaust braking device 21 and an auxiliary braking device 22 are added to the elements of an auto-cruise control device 20 so that, during auto-cruise when acceleration is applied to a vehicle running on a descending slope and braking force is required, the supply of fuel is controlled to operate an engine brake, an exhaust brake and an auxiliary brake are operated in sequence to grant braking force to the vehicle, and a transmission 29 is operated for shift-down control when a real speed is still faster than a set speed. |
