PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet for recording wherein an image can be formed by means of ink-jet recording and has high transparency and high gloss and when the image is formed, there exists no possibility of generation of transfer of ink and generation of spreading of ink and after it is stored under high temp. and high humidity or after it is stored for a long period, decrease in absorption rate of a liq. ink and generation of fluctuation of absorption of the ink are hardly observed. SOLUTION: This sheet for recording consists of a transparent substrate or an untransparent substrate with a highly luminous surface and a coloring material receiving layer provided thereon and this coloring material receiving layer consists of a crosslinked polymer fine particle with a mean particle diameter of at most 200nm and a modified polyvinyl alcohol with ethylene units as a repeating unit of 1-20% in terms of molar ratio and a degree of saponification of at least 85%.
