PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antiulcer medicine containing friedelan-3-β-ol or a β- sitosterol compound as an active ingredient, exhibiting an antiulcer action, especially exhibiting an improving effect on a hydrochloric acid ethanol gastric mucosa lesion in an acute gastric ulcer model, and free from a side effect. SOLUTION: This antiulcer medicine contains frledelan-3-β-ol of formula I or a compound of formula II (R is H, a group of formula III or a group of formula IV) (namely, β-sitosterol, β-sitosterol-3-0-6-palmitoyl-β-D-glucoside or β-sitosterol-3-0-β-D-glucoslde) as an active ingredient. The antiulcer medicine is prepared in the form of powder, granules, tablets, sugar-coated tablets, capsules, solutions, etc., and administered e.g. at a dose of 0.1-500 mg/kg body once to five times a day. |
