<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound having excellent neovascularization inhibiting action, physical stability and low toxicity and useful as an agent for the treatment and prevention of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, diabetic retinopathy, cancer, etc. SOLUTION: The objective compound is expressed by formula I [R<1> is a (substituted)hydrocarbon group; R<2> is H, R<1> or a (substituted)acyl; R<3> and R<4> are each H, R<1> , or together form a (substituted)cyclic hydrocarbon group; X is O, S or group of the formula NR<5> (R<5> is H or R<1> ); R<1> is not 2-methylpropyl when R<2> is acetyl and X is O]or its salt, e.g. (2R,3S,4R)4-acetoxy-3-methoxy-2-[(2 R,3R)-2-methyl-3-(3-methyl-2-butenyl)oxiran-2-yl]-1-methylenecyclohexane. The compound of formula I can be produced e.g. by the elimination reaction of a compound of formula II (W is a protecting group; Y is an eliminable group).</p> |
