PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an increased life for a chip by dispersing an impact load during chamfering. SOLUTION: Honing 19 is formed on the cutting edge ridge line part of a throw-away chip 10. A honing angleαa in the region of a main cutting edge 13 is gradually increased from a connection region to a corner blade 14 to a connection region to an auxiliary cutting edge 15 to form a honing twist surface 19a. A honing width Ta is gradually decreased along the main cutting edge 13 and the main cutting edge 13 is positioned parallel to an under surface 11. In a case of an axial rake angle B being positive during chamfering that the chip 10 is attached to a cutting tool, contact is effected at the point S1 on a cross ridge line L1 between a cutting face 12 and a honing twist surface 19a. In a case of the axial angle B being negative, contact is effected at a point R1 .
