PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material to be recorded for ink jetting having excellent ink absorbency and clearness of recorded images by providing, in a support base body or on its surface, an ink absorbing layer formed of a modified polyvinyl alcohol which contains a specified saponification degree and a specified quantity of α-olefin unit having specified carbon atoms. SOLUTION: In a support base body or on its surface, an ink absorbing layer formed of a modified polyvinyl alcohol(PVA) whose saponification degree is over 60mol% having 1-24mol% of α-olefin unit having 4 or less carbon atoms is provided so as to form a material to be recorded. Further preferably, in the support base body or on its surface, an ink absorbing layer formed of a modified PVA which contains a sulfone acid group, an amino group, an ammonium group, a carboxyl group or a cation group is provided so as to form a material to be recorded. As for the support base body, a transparent support base body of films of a polyester, polystyrene, etc., and an opaque support base body of sheet of paper, cloth, and timber can be named. |
