PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of various defects due to carrying failures caused by being unable to uniformly charge recording paper when recording paper is electrostatically attracted onto a travel-driven dielectric belt to be carried thereon. SOLUTION: A control electrode 26 is interposed between a toner carrier 22 and an opposite electrode 25 for controlling flying of toner. Onto a ring- shaped electrode 27 furnished around a gate 29 formed on the control electrode 26 and at which toner flies, a toner flying electric potential or no toner flying electric potential is applied via a control electric source 31 during image formation, thus images are formed by toner on recording paper 5 electrostatically attracted to the dielectric belt on the opposite electrode 25. Recording paper 5 is charged, prior to being carried into an image formation area, by giving electric charges at electric source means 18 via an electric charge supply roller 33 driven at the same speed as the carrying speed of recording paper by a driving motor 34. |
