PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To meet required properties such as light-weight, bending strength, modulus of bending elasticity, squashing strength and torsional strength by specifying the content percentage of a matrix resin and the bending strength of a pipe, in a pipe of a composite material of laminar reinforcing fiber and matrix resin. SOLUTION: In a pipe of a composite material of laminar reinforcing fiber and matrix resin, the content percentage of the matrix resin at least, in a single layer should preferably be in the range of 22-30vol.%, and the bending strength of the pipe defined by formula should preferably be 20,000MPa or more. k=σ×(R/t).σis the bending strength; R is the average radius of the pipe; and t is the wall thickness of the pipe. In this case, the best suited reinforcing fiber is glass fiber, aramid fiber or carbon fiber. However, the carbon fiber is a preferential choice for its mechanical property when used for the manufacture of a molding. The carbon fiber is of polyacrylonitrile or pitch. |
