PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop clearly contoured patterns from a gel coat surface layer by forming a patterned artificial stone from a transparent or translucent gel coat surface layer, an intermediate layer having patterns formed thereto by oily or aq. paint and a base material under layer. SOLUTION: A gel coat surface layer 1 is formed into a transparent membrane with a thickness of 0.3-0.5mm by using a compsn. prepared by premixing a curing agent with thermosetting unsaturated polyester. An intermediate layer 2 having patterns formed thereto is formed by oily paint prepared by about doubly diluting acrylic paint with a thinner and firmly and closely bonded to the gel coat surface layer 1. A base material under layer 3 is formed from a compsn. prepared by mixing an inorg. filler such as aluminum hydroxide, a glass powder or calcium carbonate and a curing agent with a main agent being a thermosetting resin such as unsaturated polyester in the same way as the gel coat surface layer 1. In this patterned artificial stone A, the intermediate layer 2 having clear linear patterns formed thereto can be seen through from the transparent gel coat surface layer 1. |
