SWASH PLATE TYPE COMPRESSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise generated from a thrust bearing, and achieve calm operation by providing a slide bearing as the thrust bearing between a lug plate and a inner surface of a housing. SOLUTION: A thrust bearing 50 is formed between an inner surface of a front housing 22 and a front surface of a Jug plate 35. A swash plate 39 thus receives gas pressure of a cylinder bore 30 to receive axial direction force from the right side to the left side for supporting the force in the same direction applied to the Jug plate 35. This thrust bearing 50 is composed of a semi- spherical bearing element 51 of which spherical surface part is fitted with a spherically recessed holding part formed in an inner surface of a front housing 22 to be supported. A radius of a spherical surface part of the holding part is set to be only a little larger than a radius of a spherical surface of the bearing element 51, so the bearing element 51 is slidably engaged in the holding part, and that lubricating oil can be easily taken in. Slide characteristics can thus be improved to provide calm operation.
