PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member for sports which is formed by using an inexpensively thermoplastic material having extremely good shock absorbability, has excellent shock absorbability, retains the shock absorbability without deterioration with the lapse of time and has excellent durability at high producibility. SOLUTION: The thermoplastic materials which contain a high-molecular org. material and softener and are 0 to 25 deg. in A hardness stipulated in JIS (Japanese Industrial Standards), <=50% in compression set at 100 deg.C and <=10g/10min in MFR at 230 deg.C are used as the shock absorbing materials. These thermoplastic materials contain 50 to 500 pts.wt. softener per 100 pts.wt. high molecular org. material. The difference in the solubility parameters between the respective materials of the high-polymer org. material and the softener is <=3.0. The materials contain 10 to 250 pts.wt. polyphenylene ether. The high molecular org. material is a polymer obtd. by hydrogenating a copolymer contg. polystyrene and polybutadiene. The softener is preferably selected from napthenic, paraffinic and polyisobutylenic oils. |
