PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart wear resistance and to maintain stabilized antibacterial and mildewproofing action over a long period by forming a ceramic layer carrying a charged antibacterial metal on the surface of metallic formed parts. SOLUTION: A ceramic layer carrying 0.1-45% ionized antibacterial metal is formed on the surface of the metallic formed parts. One or >=2 kinds selected from among Ag, Cu, Zn, Sn, Pb, Co and Bi are used as the antibacterial metal. The ceramic layer consists essentially of zeolite by preference. Consequently, the entire surface of the parts is coated with the antibacterial ceramic layer, and the parts exert an effect on fungi and mildew in a short time. Further, the excellent antibacterial and mildewproofing action is maintained over a long period, since the ceramic layer is excellent in wear resistance and only a minute amt. of the antibacterial metal is eluted. |
