The invention concerns a method of securing a grid (5) in a housing (1), in particular for securing a blow-out grid in the outlet opening of a hair drier. The grid (5) consists of metal material and the housing (1) of plastics-containing material. The grid (5) is inserted into the housing (1) such that it abuts the latter at least partially and is then heated. The result of heating is that the regions of the housing (1) abutting the grid (5) become soft and the grid (5) penetrates the housing (1). The material of the housing (1) which has been displaced by the penetrating action is raised on both sides of the grid (5). When the softened material of the housing (1) has cooled, the grid (5) is rigidly connected to the housing (1).
