The conveyor system transports parcels between a storage in a storeroom (38) with a number of commissioning places (26, 27, 28, 29) and a number of unloading stations (30, 31, 32, 33) in a supply room (36). Tanks (35) are provided for reception and transport of parcels. A conveyance path (12, 13), transports the tanks between the commissioning and unloading stations. A cross-connection is provided between the conveyance paths of each unloading station, and between the conveyance path and each commissioning place. A central control (40) monitors and controls the system. An automatically controlled drive carriage (16) is provided, which is coupled with carriages (18, 20) for the reception of tanks, and is moved along the conveyance path. The number of the unloading stations corresponds to the number of commissioning places in the store room. The drive carriage is controlled so that a space on one carriage remains free for the reception of a tank, at each transport between two connections of the conveyance path.
