Process for influencing the flow of a gas

During the gas flow regulating process comprising one or more starting materials, the stream passes through a porous solid body. New substances are produced by chemical reaction, and their concentration is higher at some point in the porous solid body than at its inlet end. After leaving the outlet end of the body, the new substances decompose substantially into the starting materials.
