The safety accessory, for a vehicle without its own brakes, includes a chock (1) which can be attached to a holder (4). A holding device with oppositely engaging coupling elements is fitted in the region of the side edges of the bottom plate (5) of the chock and the side cheeks of the baseplate (10) of the holder. This is in the form of an insertion bar (15) and a receiving pocket (13). It can be engaged by an L=shaped movement running perpendicular to the baseplate and in its longitudinal direction. At least one spring arm (18) projects rearwards from the holder baseplate.
