The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for the controlled transdermal delivery of a drug comprising a combination of a drug and a ion exchanger group grafted to a carrier, and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt that is able to control the release of the drug from the ion exchanger. According to the invention the carrier is a textile fiber. According to a preferred embodiment the drug is tacrine or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt.
