<p>A high-precision optical module having a simple construction and a high abrasion resistance and capable of being manufactured at a low cost, comprising a photosemiconductor element (10), a holder (14) for the photosemiconductor element, and a receptacle core (16) fixed to the holder and adapted to be fit into a ferrule of an optical plug to be connected so that it can hold the plug, wherein the photosemidoncutor element is optically connected to the optical fiber on the ferrule when the optical plug is connected to the photosemiconductor element. The receptacle core is a cylindrical integral molded product of a metal, and a high-rigidity film (16a) comprising TiC is formed on at least an inner circumferential surface of a bore of the receptacle core, a ferrule stopper (18) being set in a base end portion of the bore. The holder and a receptacle portion may be molded to an integral structure. The high-rigidity film is formed by a CV method to a thickness of 1-10 νm.</p> |
