Electrochemical Sensor with two sensor elements, one detecting oxidising gases and other reducing gases

The sensor unit has two sensor elements. The sensor resistor (RS1) of one sensor element (S1), in which one branch of one voltage divider (TP1) is connected to earth. The sensor resistor (RS2) of the other sensor element (S2), in which the branch of the other voltage divider (TP2) is connected at the supply voltage (UB). The outputs of the two amplifying steps (V1, V2) are connected with a single input of the A/D converter stage (W) in such a manner, that to this is supplied, a sensor signal formed by the superimposition of the two output signals of the amplifying steps (V1, V2).
