Lifting mechanism for seats or beds, especially hospital beds

The seats or beds have a lower frame (2) joined by driven swing levers to an upper frame (1) which supports a surface for sitting or lying on. The bottom ends of two levers (6,8) are mounted in swivel joints on beams (4) in the lower frame, whilst the top ends of these levers are mounted in swivel joints on struts (10). A second pair of levers (5,7) have their bottom ends mounted in swivel joints on the same struts, whilst their top ends are mounted in swivel joints on the top frame. A second pair of struts (9) are used to join two of the bottom levers (6) with two of the top levers (7). This second pair of struts are coupled to tabs (14) projecting from the top levers.
