The information system contains an information centre (10) working as data source external to the motor vehicle and a data station (20) installed in the motor vehicle. The information centre has a data base (11), a data input unit (12), an information server (13) and a transmitting unit (14). The data input unit receives the information data and position data (from sources inside and outside the centre, e.g. using GPS, gyroscope, vehicle sensor), while the information server is a computer and the transmitting unit communicates with the data station through the antenna (14a), obtaining data from the data base and sending the data to the station.
