Tape for forming air-permeable seal between ridge tiles and roof tiles

Elongated gaps between ridge tiles and roof tiles are sealed while allowing air passage by a sealing mat consisting of an elastic water-repellent and air-permeable tape (1) with pleated edges (2) with metal strips on their upper side and with adhesive tapes on their underside, also including a pleated central region (3) with pleated metal strip coating. The base material for the tape is a rubber film or a cloth impregnated or coated with rubber. Sections (4) of the tape between the pleated middle region and the pleated edge regions are not pleated. The rubber material is preferably an ethylene propylene terpolymer and the metal strips are of aluminium foil, adhesive-bonded to the tape. Also claimed is a method of manufacture of the tape by bonding metal strips to smooth rubber film and pleating with profile rolls.
