Joining motor vehicle body components

Components of motor vehicle body are joined together by a method in which at least one glass fibre (3) is inserted in an adhesive bead (7) on the components and UV radiation is coupled to the fibre so that the adhesive can be directly cured in place. Preferably the glass fibre acts as support for an optically more dense adhesive which forms the fibre sheath. Uncoupling points may be formed by damaging the sheath at defined places, so that laser light emerging at these points can destroy the glass fibre through its power density.
