The inner (5) and/or outer ring (1) have races for two rows of balls and are divided at a point which determines the pressure common to all three rows of balls (2,3,7). The one ball row (3) may lie directly between inner and outer rings as against ball rows (2,7) which are allocated ball races in the intermediate ring (4). These could be inclined ball bearings such that the pretension of rows (2,7) in tandem with the third row (3) give an O or X arrangement. In detail, the races on the intermediate ring may be for ball row (2) on the outside diameter and for ball row (7) on the inside diameter, compounded here by the opposed race part on the inner ring part (6). The shoulders of the respective races can produce the O-arrangement of the bearing balls, so the lines of effective force portended to the centre line of the bearing give rise to oppositely directed cones. |
