The energy saving plug box is fitted with a timer, which is connected by cable to a keying device. So that the time can be preset to activate the electric water heater at certain times, and can be switched off after the expiry of the preset time. An automatic electronic switch-off unit is provided, which is activated automatically if the manual switch has been left on. The switch off unit is started with the operation of the keying device. The operation of the hot water unit can be timed to provide hot water, also during night time with personnel in attendance.
