Hand-operated car jack

The jack used for changing a wheel on a car may be operated by hand. Both right and left hand threads may be cut on the self-locking threaded spindle (2) of the jack. The spindle of the jack is fitted with a hexagon nut for rotation purposes. The adjustable supports (5,6) are formed as a parallelogram. They may have different lengths and the opposed support pairs are of equal length.
