The lighting system consists of a number of fluorescent light tubes (5,6) that are held in sockets in frames (3,4) that are coupled together by sockets (13). The lighting units have connectors (15) are of a plug and socket type that couple with contacts within a power rail (2) that is fixed to a surface.
