The dice game includes a die (11) situated behind a semi-spherical viewing window (4). The die is free to rotate about any axis and can be contained in a tubular hollow body (5), resting on a base (7) with a number of asymmetrical air passages (6). A blower (9) generates an air stream which flows through the hollow body and the air passages, and an electromagnetic drive mechanism jolts the die into the air stream, causing it to rotate about all of its axes. A passive oscillator circuit is provided at each face of the die, with a different resonance frequency for each face, and a sensor coil (12) connected to a frequency generator is positioned beneath the base. The particular oscillator circuit which faces the base when the die comes to rest determines the voltage in the sensor coil. An evaluation unit (13) determines the symbol associated with the position of the die from this voltage.
