Vented pouring spout for can

The pouring spout is clipped to the inside of the can (2) and is held by a spring clip (3) gripping inside the pouring opening. A vent pipe (3) is angled into the can with the end nearest to the pouring opening fitted with a shaped flange which, in the pouring position, prevents closing of the vent opening by the rising level of liquid. The pouring spout prevents the build-up of vacuum inside the can, which would eventually result in spillage. The unit is fitted to the can during manufacture.
