<p>A motor vehicle with a sliding side window 4, for example in a door 2, is quipped with a washing device comprising at least one nozzle 8 for directing a jet of washing fluid onto the window glass. Preferably a polymeric blade 5,6 is also provided to assist in removing debris from the glass. The nozzle[s] may be directed towards the glass on the outside of the door as at 8B or may be mounted within the door skin, as at 8. In the preferred embodiment there are a plurality of nozzles on a common fluid supply rail [fig.1 not shown]. A controller is preferably provided for the pump for the fluid and times the pump to operate during opening or closing of the window to ensure that the majority of the window passes the nozzle[s].</p> |
