PURPOSE:To enable the execution of stable passing for preventing meandering of strip by providing inclined rotation rolls in combination with pinch rolls, a meandering detector for strip and an angle control device. CONSTITUTION:A strip 12 is fed to a pinch roll 1 and meandering quantity is detected with a meandering detector 2 which is provided on that outlet side. Next, the inclined angles theta of inclined rotation rolls 3 of which the pinch roll 1 are composed are controlled with an angle control device 4. That is, in the normal case, the inclined rotation rolls 3 are made to pinch the strip 12 in the straight state, but, when meandering is detected with the meandering detector 2, the inclined angle on one side of the inclined rotation rolls 3 is changed to move the strip 12 in the direction of correcting meandering and simultaneously also the angle of roll shaft 5 is changed so as to pinch the strip with its flat surface. The correcting speed of meandering can be adjusted by the changing speed of angle. In this way, off-tracking on the joint of strip is eliminated in a trimmer part and it is possible to reduce the trimming allowance of strip in the general area. |
