PURPOSE:To reduce black smoke and NOx in exhaust gas by injecting a small amount of fuel from an auxiliary injection valve into an active energy chamber after the fuel injected from a main injection valve is ignited and started to burn. CONSTITUTION:An active energy chamber 5 inter-connected to a combustion chamber 3 is provided. After the fuel injected from a main injection valve 4 is ignited and started to burn, a small amount of fuel is injected from an auxiliary injection valve 7 into active energy chamber 5. After-burning in the combustion chamber 3 is activated by injecting the burned gas in the active energy chamber 5 into the combustion chamber 3, whereby both black smoke and NOx in exhaust gases can be reduced.
