PURPOSE:To improve productivity, image fixing properties and durability by forming an image containing gradation information on a base, then applying, ultraviolet beam-curable application liquid after the formation of an intermediate protecting layer, and irradiating the liquid with ultraviolet beam. CONSTITUTION:An image containing gradation information is formed on a card-size base 2 with means for image formation Y, M, C, B using sublimable thermal transfer recording technique, or an image containing character information is formed using sublimable thermal transfer recording technique or thermal fusible thermal transfer recording technique. Next, an intermediate protecting layer 2e is formed on a surface where an image is formed using a means for formation of an intermediate layer. Next, an ultraviolet curable application liquid is applied with a means R for application of an ultraviolet curable application liquid, then the ultraviolet curable application liquid is irradiated with an ultraviolet beam using a means for emission of ultraviolet beam and is cured. In addition, the base 2 is transported to these means by a transport means. Thus it is possible to obtain rapidly a large quantity of card recording media where the image formation surface of the base is protected by an ultraviolet curable resin layer through the intermediate protecting layer. |
