PURPOSE:To realize the use of a low output light source and to improve printing speed by setting a voltage and the thickness of a photosensitive body for an optical printer so that an amorphous selenium (Se) electric field is allowed to generate an avalanche phenomenon. CONSTITUTION:An electrifier 1 is disposed in a part of the outer periphery of a photosensitive drum 7 concentrically consisting of earth electrodes 7-1 and amorphous selenium Se 7-2: Voltage (usually hundreds volts) is impressed on the electrifier 1 so that the electric field of the amorphous selenium 7-2 becomes the electric field generating the avalanche phenomenon, and the radial thickness of the Se layer 7-2 (about 2-10mum) is set. Accordingly, current fluctuation affected by photosensitivity, i.e., irradiating light quantity is increased. Thus, the low output light source can be used for a laser beam source to be used, and the printing speed can be improved. |
